Something I don't eat anymore

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

The best chocolate cookies in the world, enjoyed most with milk. (Not everything was bad in the GDR, especially the sweets were good.) But since I don't eat grains anymore they are off my foodlist. Still, I enjoy this photograph immensely. It's from my sunlight session last year.

One of my figurines, I just love them and bought them on my language trips to Great Britain back in the late 1990s. Back then I loved to read fantasy books. Now I've been on search for new stories for 1 1/2 years. I have outgrown fantasy and chicklit, even the combination of them is boring now. HELP! Now seriously, I'm craving really good stories, but I somehow seem to be unabled to find them. This is sooooooo frustrating.

Chocolate

650 bucks for a bedframe and when we wanted to put it together it didn't fit!!! And since today is a public holiday in Saxony I have to wait till tomorrow for the service to show up to fix it. Which means more procrastination in terms of moving, since I can't finish the shelf before the bed is properly build and that means I can't bring over more of my books today. (Leading to chaos in my old room. While I didn't have a problem with chaos when I was younger, I started to really dislike it throughout the last year.)

The kitchen isn't finished either, I still have no workplate and since I have such an expensive taste I always end up liking the plates which are really expensive with their print (Palisander, anyone). Argh.

The bath still has no mirror, my desk is still in my old room, so are my plants, paperwork (strewn all over my desk) and jewellery. But my clothes are already over there!

It's sooooooooo frustrating.

Post 200 - I can't believe that I'm already here

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

It's not even a year since I started this blog and I'm already at post 200. This is incredible to me. Because it took me a year to get to post 200 with my Triathlon blog. And my first two blogs never got over post number 5.

For one thing I'm sure it's because I just love to share my photography. It's much more fun to take pictures when you can share them with people who have the same interest. An old friend of mine (we know each other since 8th grade) asked me on my birthday dinner 2 weeks ago, what I take all those pictures for? What do I do with all those pictures? (She even made fun of my organized archive!)
I just had shown two freshly developed films with pretty amazing pictures. Chris (the digital photographer) loved them and was totally excited about the outcome. Chris and my jaw dropped on these questions.
It seems my old friend has no concept of what a hobby means to someone. She and her husband stopped taking pictures because they would only crowd the harddrive or the room (he used to take slides a few years back).
So after I had collected my scattered brain I said that I want to get better at photography, so that I can take part in contests for the fun of it (and the possible won cameras) and that I publish them in my blog. I don't think that she grasped the whole idea of just having fun while taking the pictures, to explore the possibilities and then sharing the excitement with other photographers. (Poor girl.)

So, I'm glad that I've got all of you photographers out there, to share the fun. Thanks for coming here.

The Grater

Saturday, September 25, 2010

You know the drill by now, I'm going offline for the weekend. I wish all of you a very relaxing weekend.

I'll go with Chris to the F/Stop Photography Festival 500 pictures at 4 locations in the city, should be interesting.

See you on Monday.

Torturing you with the Sunlight Session

You know I thought that I had finally developed all Sunlight Session films, but alas I was wrong. I got back another film with pics of this April session. Wonder how long this will be going on?

Taken during my sunlight session back in April. If you look closely, you can see the reflection of my camera in the grater.

First picture of a film

Friday, August 6, 2010

Just in case, if you never shot with an analogue camera, this can happen to the first pic of a film. The white part was exposed to the light when I put the film in my camera. I finally got around to scan and cut another film from the Sunlight session back in April.

At first I was annoyed when I saw this pic, now I like it. Lomography is really weird, I start to like pics which would have made me throw a tantrum if I had made those with a SLR.
